Growing up, I always heard my mom say, “ dreaming is free so dream as much as you want!” And that’s what I did. However I didn’t want all of those dreams I was dreaming about to be just that and so I made sure to make them a reality. Some of those dreams included learning English after moving to NYC, going to college, becoming a teacher, traveling to different countries, finding love, getting married, having kids, buying a home, among others.
I feel so blessed that I was able to accomplish so many of my dreams to come true. But guess what? Now I have new dreams! Some dreams are easier and faster to get accomplished then others. But I believe everything happens in it's own time.
I started wearing glasses when I was twelve years old. I enjoyed them at times but other times I just didn’t care for them. Then when I got older I decided to also wear contact lenses. It was great to have options rather than only my glasses - so I was happy when that dream came true. Then last year a big dream came true, I was able to do the Lasik eye surgery. What an amazing accomplishment that was! And so worth it!
Many times, if not all the time, accomplished dreams changes your life usually for the better. Some dreams that I haven’t accomplished yet will change my and my family’s life, like so many others did. But I'm so ready for them.
So for you reading this, go and make those dreams come true. We only have this one life to live, so LIVE IT. Live it scared, live it happily, live it well.
