Big City and Quick Foods or Small Town and Fresh Grown?

I've always been raised in big, busy cities. First it was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (where I was born and raised for nine years) and then New York City (where I have lived since moving here with my family from Brazil).

Although big cities are exciting, filled with interesting people, and opportunities, my heart is not there.

For as long as I can remember, small cities, small towns, and even farms have been places I longed to live or visit. Spending time away from the hectic life of a big, busy city was what I looked forward to.

And then I met a man who enjoys these things just like I do! Traveling to states, towns, and even parts of different countries that have a calming feel, with wide open spaces with fresh grown food, and fresh air was what we looked for in our vacations. Oh! And definitely with beautiful beaches nearby!

Fast forward to today. We have a tiny kiwi farm in Greece with a charming little house that our whole family loves to vacation every year. And although Yianni and I love the kiwis, we plan to one day grow fruits and vegetables in a section of the farm. How exciting is that?!

But excitement won't help me in any way in how to plant fruits and vegetables if I don't get started in learning about it!

I love to read and that includes blogs as well. I have read many blogs throughout the years and have learned a lot from other people. There are so many knowledgeable people out there! One of those blogs is www.ourfavoritefarmer.com . This farmer has tons of great articles about why growing your own food is best, or tips on how to grow food, or what tools you should use, etc.

One article in particular that stuck with me was the article titled: "Why YOU Should Start Growing Food!" The author explains that it's easier than we think, it's obviously better for your health, it's guaranteed food security, it's tastier, and it makes you happy to see your own food grow. Wellness living is my love language and that includes surrounding myself with plants, fresh grown fruits and vegetables, breathing fresh air, taking care of my body, and learning all about how to do these things from others who knows best.

I'm thankful for the blog world and for learning so much.
